Almost everyone has played a falling blocks puzzle at some point, and Tetro Classic is a faithful take on it. Pieces fall from above, you rotate and shift them as they come down, and any complete horizontal line vanishes. If you like this kind of thing, the Tetris category has more.
Its strength is how little it changes the formula. There are no distractions, just blocks and the growing pressure as the stack rises. Being HTML5, Tetro Classic opens without plugins, and mobile players get buttons drawn on the screen.
Stacking the blocks
Move each falling piece left or right, rotate it to fit, and drop it into the gaps below. Complete a row across the whole width and it clears, letting the rest sink. Once the pile touches the ceiling, it is game over. On a computer the arrow keys control the pieces, and mobile players get keys on the screen instead.
Keeping the stack low
- Keep the surface as flat as you can so every shape has somewhere to go.
- Leave one column open at the side for the long straight piece.
- Avoid covering holes, a single gap can block a row for a long time.
