Penalty Shootout: Euro Cup 2016 boils soccer down to twelve yards of nerves. You choose one of the national teams on offer, and from then on it is kick, save, kick, save until someone cracks.
It is a quick sports game from our Soccer section, ideal when you have five minutes and want a result. Every kick is a single decision, which makes it easy to learn. Playing with a finger on a phone screen works fine, and so does the mouse.
Shooting and saving
A penalty shootout alternates between taking a kick and defending your own goal. When you shoot, aim for a spot the keeper cannot reach. When you defend, try to guess where the kick is going and move there in time. The team with more goals at the end wins.
Penalty tips
- Aim close to the posts; the corners are the hardest places for a keeper to cover.
- Do not shoot to the same side every time.
- When defending, commit to a side early instead of waiting too long.
