Chess rules at a glance

Each side starts with sixteen pieces. You move one piece per turn, following its rules. The rook goes in straight lines, the bishop diagonally, the knight in an L shape, the queen in any direction and the king one square at a time. Pawns move forward and capture diagonally. The aim is checkmate, attacking the enemy king so that it cannot escape.
