Battle Monster mixes a monster collecting RPG with match 3 puzzles. You choose to play as a boy or a girl, build up a team of pet monsters and take them out to fight other monsters, and every fight is settled on a match 3 board rather than a menu of attacks. It is part of our Role Playing section.
There is a good amount to get through, with forty rival monsters spread over five worlds. Being HTML5, the whole thing loads on this page, on a laptop or a phone.
How battles work
Pick your character, then head out with your pet monsters to a location and challenge the monster waiting there. In battle you match three or more pieces on the board, and your matches drive the fight. Work your way through all forty rivals across the five worlds.
Winning more battles
- Look for matches of four or five, they usually clear more of the board.
- Scan the whole board before each move, not only the corner your eye lands on.
- Collect more pet monsters so you have options for tougher fights.
